Uncontested Divorce-Flat Fee

"Discourage litigation.  Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can.  As a peacemaker the lawyer has the superior opportunity to be a good man.  There will be business enough." -Abraham Lincoln

The Law Office of Amy R. Ritchey encourages its clients to approach divorce as reasonably as possible and to avoid letting emotions trump rational decision making. Creating conflict is counter-productive and only serves to run up legal fees.  Divorce is an upsetting prospect, but the actual process does not have to be painful, drawn-out and expensive.  The Law Office of Amy Ritchey can help guide you through your divorce smoothly and affordably.  If you and your spouse are considering a divorce and want to save a lot of money and time, an uncontested flat fee divorce may be right for you.

WHAT IS AN UNCONTESTED DIVORCE?

  • Parental Responsibility (decision making) of the child(ren) - usually Shared Parental Responsibility
  • Timesharing (formerly visitation)
  • Child Support

BENEFITS OF UNCONTESTED DIVORCE

  • You maintain control of your future and that of your family
  • Avoids leaving decisions about your life up to a judge who doesn't know you or what is best for your family
  • Less emotional strain on you and your family
  • Minimizes legal fees - one Flat Fee!.

CONTESTED vs. UNCONTESTED DIVORCE

Believe it or not, the average contested divorce with children and only a modest amount of assets costs between $7,500 to $10,000 in legal fees.  A traditional contested divorce can take anywhere from six months to three years whereas uncontested divorces can be resolved in as little as 20 days.  Often times, parties in contested divorces end up agreeing to compromise to offers made early on in the case before litigation began and emotions intensified after they have spent thousands of dollars in legal fees along the way.  In other words, the negotiations usually end up where they started.  Don't throw good money after bad.  Even if you and your spouse cannot overcome your personal differences, that doesn't mean you can't come together to work out the specifics of the divorce to make the process less stressful and more economical.

WHY CHOOSE MY SERVICE?

You will get a consultation with Amy Ritchey, a licensed attorney with experience in family law, and you will have access to her throughout the entire process.  All documents are prepared by Attorney Amy R. Ritchey, not an assistant or paralegal.  I am sure you have seen paralegal and other non-lawyer services advertising cheap divorces.  These services are essentially charging you for forms that you could get for free or for a nominal charge, which you will have to fill out and file yourself, without legal advice.  Remeber, non-lawyers cannot give you legal advice.  If you choose a non-lawyer service, you end up paying an exorbitant amount of money for confusing forms and no guidance.  There is no comparison to having the peace of mind of an attorney guiding you through the process and preparing your paperwork.
